In Switzerland, one in five women is victims of sexual violence

The incidence of sexual violence in Switzerland has been increasing in the past. Five of the women, in particular, are victims of sexual violence. Human rights organization Amnesty Switzerland disclosed this information.

A study published on Tuesday showed that 22 percent of women in the country are victims of sexual harassment. Of those, 12 percent of women were forced to have sexual relations against their will.
Amnesty Swiss Director Mann Chik said, "The results of the study are going to get rid of. The police have complained to them about fewer women.

After collecting information about 4.500 women as a sample of research, it is found that half of them do not want to open their mouths about sexual violence. Only eight percent of female victims of sexual violence complained to police.

60 percent of women said that they were victims of sexual harassment due to unwarranted communication, hugging and kissing.

Meanwhile, last year, about 1,023 people reported sexual harassment to police and complained to the police. Many of them have been accused of being victims of rape. But there is no strict law to prosecute sexual violence in that country. Only rape cases are found strictly with respect to the evidence.
Last year, it was claimed in the country that apart from rape, there is a clear definition of sexual harassment and it is clearly defined. Amnesty Switzerland appealed to the highest court of the country, apart from rape, sexual harassment incidents are defined separately. The court also asked for law enactment considering the sexual harassment incident being punishable.
